I bought it from a small antiques fair at Hingham, which is a small Norfolk town about 20 miles west of Norwich. As I said the fair is small with about 20 stalls and I try and go each month when it is on. The mug came from a stall of a local couple who were selling off some of their own things. They told me that years ago they had taken the mug to one of the Antique Roadshow’s tv shows where they had shown Henry Sandon the mug. Henry Sandon dated the mug to the mid 18th century and valued the mug at £350-£450. He also told them that he had never seen one before in better condition. I too was very impressed by the condition and was the main reason why I bought it. I am sure you will be very impressed too when it arrives.
